2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:

- Password (stored in hashed form — we never see your plain-text password)
- Google account information if you sign in with Google (name, email, profile picture)
2.2 Content You Upload
To provide the Service, we process content you submit, including:
- YouTube video URLs you provide for processing
- Audio, video, and document files you upload (PDF, MP3, MP4, etc.)
- Text you paste directly into the Service
This content is processed to generate transcripts, notes, quizzes, flashcards, summaries, slides, and mind maps. Uploaded files are stored securely and associated with your account.
2.3 Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service:
- IP address and general location (country/region)
- Device type, operating system, and browser
- Pages visited and features used within the app
- Timestamps of actions (content creation, quiz attempts, etc.)
- Error logs and performance data
2.4 Payment Information
When you purchase a plan, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or bank credentials. We only receive a transaction confirmation and the amount paid. Razorpay's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process your uploaded content and generate AI-powered study materials
- Manage your subscription and purchase history
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
- Improve, debug, and optimize the Service
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models without your explicit consent.
4. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with the following third-party services that have their own privacy policies:
- Google Sign-In — for authentication. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Razorpay — for payment processing. Governed by Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
- AI Processing Providers — we use third-party AI APIs to generate transcripts and study materials from your content. These providers process content solely to fulfill your request and are contractually prohibited from retaining or using your data for other purposes.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Encrypted passwords (bcrypt hashing)
- Secure token-based authentication (JWT stored in secure storage on mobile)
- Access controls limiting which personnel can access user data
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:
- Account data: retained until you delete your account.
- Uploaded files and generated content: retained until you delete the workspace or your account.
- Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations.
- Usage logs: retained for up to 90 days for debugging and security purposes.
When you delete your account, your personal data and content are permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Cookies and Tracking
Our web application uses essential cookies and browser storage to:
- Keep you signed in (authentication token)
- Remember your preferences (theme, sidebar state)
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, which will sign you out of the Service.
8. Your Rights

CastIQ is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. 10. International Users
CastIQ is operated from India. If you access the Service from outside India, your information may be transferred to and processed in India or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app notification. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
